You could say it’s the unexpected child of Lost Paradise — born somewhere along the journey of a young backpacker who over the course of 15 years, ended up building his own tropical island resort.
That journey wasn’t exactly smooth. Shipping wood from Borneo, hauling it across Java, learning local craftsmanship, and slowly shaping a place — piece by piece, room by room — into what became the Lost Paradise Resort.
Along the way, we kept setting aside the most beautiful pieces of wood. Teak, merbao, bangkirai, ulin... Not because we had a plan, but because they felt too good to be used there and then.
Then one day, without much warning, those pieces found their purpose.
Behind the bamboo fence in an overgrown corner of the property, almost overnight something took shape.
And when the fence came down — there was a cocktail bar that hadn’t existed the day before.
People walking past stopped and asked,
“Wait… where did this come from?!”
Backed by more than 15 years of hands-on experience in global hospitality, General Lee’s became exactly what it was meant to be — a place defined by character, craftsmanship and authenticity.
